Most everyone knows the story of Coca-Cola and the Georgia pharmacist who came up with a French wine coca nerve tonic. He added kola nut extract to the concoction to help him deal with his chronic morphine addiction developed after he was treated for Civil War injuries. So much for American entrepreneurship. Chandler turned the odd-tasting drink (ask someone who grew up never tasting the stuff) into a top 100 American corporation, the first to do so on the strength of a beverage product other than beer.

Technically this isn't a door push, it is a support bar for a metal shelf that held Coca-Cola products, probably six and eight-packs. The advantages are that it is much stronger than tin door pushers (this is made of painted 1/8-inch solid steel) and there are double hooks on each end. They would fit into a metal shelf bracket, if you so choose, but we think the hooks make this sign easier to hang on a wall or other location.

It's the real thing. Measures 20 x 2.25 inches (51 x 6 cm) and the bottom edge is rounded. In great condition with only a few small scratches and discolorations. A must have for any late 1960s or 1970s recreated business, from a barbershop, hair saloon, or soda shop to drugstore, gas station, or garage/mechanic shop.
